1989 Ford F150 – Thomas A.

When I first bought my F-150 I was in high school, found it for $500 on facebook marketplace. The truck was solid mechanically for the most part, but the body was rough, someone had sanded parts down and given a rattle can treatment of various paints. Shortly after my purchase, I had begun taking classes at my local college for auto-body, and was eventually given the opportunity to work on a personal project. This begun my year long (still ongoing) restoration process. I immediately got to work tearing it apart, cutting rust out and replacing worn parts. It was a learning process to say the least, hitting several bumps along the way. Of course, I decided keeping it stock wasn’t good enough, it needed some custom touches. So, she got a one off cowl hood, 3rd brake light delete, custom mounting for obs Chevy mirrors, capped, smoothed bed top rails and an LMC roll-pan. After months of fabrication and body work it was time for paint, I knew I wanted something unique and flashy. Shortly after some test panels and deliberation with some close friends, I had made up my mind, a custom tri-tone with metal flake over the whole thing. It pushed the limits of all my skills in every aspect of the project but in my opinion it was so worth it, the truck has a sparkle to it in the sun that can’t be explained or captured by a camera. It gets complements and thumbs up everywhere I take it and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. LMC provided majority of the parts and the quality was top notch on everyone.
