1972 Chevy C10 – Scott H.
I’ve always been drawn to the timeless lines and bold attitude of the classic C10 trucks. There’s just something about their stance, their style, and their presence on the road that speaks to me. So, when the opportunity came up 12 years ago to buy a ’72 C10 that had been sitting in storage, I jumped on it. It was a base model—humble, with a 307 under the hood—but it had good bones and even better potential.
Not long after I got it home, the engine gave up. I decided right then and there to build the truck I’d always dreamed of owning.
What followed was a seven-year, off-and-on rebuild—a true passion project. I stripped the truck down to the frame, touching every nut, bolt, and panel along the way. This wasn’t just a restoration; it was a reinvention. I upgraded and refined things as I went, learning more than I ever expected—not just about the truck, but about patience, precision, and perseverance.
One thing I knew from the start: I didn’t want a cookie-cutter C10. No factory color combos or predictable builds. I wanted a truck that stood out to me—one that felt like mine in every detail. Under the hood now sits a 383 stroker, backed by fuel injection and a set of coilovers up front for a smoother, sharper ride. The custom interior adds a modern edge without losing the truck’s vintage soul. And that’s just scratching the surface of the upgrades, which includes an aluminum bed floor which looks like wood.
Today, the truck is exactly what I hoped it would be: a head-turning weekend cruiser with personality and power. It’s not a trailer queen—I built it to be driven, to be enjoyed, and it gets its fair share of attention wherever it goes.
For me, this build has been about more than just metal and mechanics. It’s about the love of the C10 life. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
