1970 Chevy C10 – Jeff C.
John was a friend of mine for many years. We met while serving on a prison ministry team in Texas. John and his wife Bea and me and my wife Patricia became close over the years. I remember the first-time walking into John’s shop and seeing this truck. She was John’s baby. I think that he bought it in 1997. John and Bea went out on their first date in it. The truck had special meaning. However, in 2018 John passed away. I remember being with Bea a couple of years later and seeing the old truck practically parked where John had parked it last. I said, “Bea have you started John’s truck lately?” She said no. I didn’t push it then, but I wanted to tell her that she needed to drive it every so often, but I didn’t. In 2022 Bea finally decided to try to start it and of course the battery was dead. She called a trusted friend, and he helped her get it to a mechanic and do the necessary repairs and such to get it running. After that it set for another year. Then in January of 2024 Bea called and said that she had decided to sell John’s truck and asked me if I wanted to buy it, of course I said yes. Her name is Jill Ann in memory of my old buddy John.
