1989 Ford F150 – Jerry L.

My 1989 Ford F-150 Classic: A Labor of Love
By Jerry L L.

Every classic truck has a story, and mine started in my own garage. My 1989 Ford F-150 wasn’t a showpiece when I bought it — it was a partially restored pickup that needed patience, care, and a vision. I saw potential in it, and I knew that with some dedication, it could shine again.

In 2018, I rolled up my sleeves and decided to bring new life to this classic Ford. I spent countless hours sanding it down, smoothing out the dings, and getting every panel ready for the paint booth. It was a slow process, but I wanted to do it right. Every pass of the sandpaper brought me one step closer to seeing the truck the way it was meant to be — strong, clean, and proud.

Finally, in 2022, I had it painted. Four coats of paint and a clear coat later, the finish was everything I had hoped for — deep, glossy, and flawless. The color came to life in a way that reminded me why I started this project in the first place. It wasn’t just about restoring a truck; it was about bringing back a piece of American craftsmanship.

After the paint, I turned my attention under the hood. The F-150’s 5.0 engine runs great now — smooth, reliable, and full of power. I also treated the truck to a new interior, giving it the same attention to detail as the exterior. The result is a ride that looks as good as it drives.

This project has been a true labor of love. From sanding in the heat to watching that final coat of paint glisten under the lights, every step was worth it. My 1989 Ford F-150 Classic isn’t just a truck — it’s a reflection of patience, pride, and the joy of bringing something timeless back to life.

And that’s my truck story.
