1973 Chevy C10 – Lee R.

I have owned this truck for 51 years. It was purchased in December of 1974. I came to California in January of 1975. It is a bare bones truck with a 250
6 cylinder and a 3 on the tree. The only option it has is power steering and I probably wouldn’t have purchased it, if it had not had power steering. The truck
has 269 K miles. The engine was rebuilt at 199 K miles as the thermostat stuck and fried the engine. Funny thing was, it didn’t smell hot and I saw the temp gauge
was 230 degrees. It was so hot it was dieseling and I had to put it in gear and pop the clutch to get the engine to stop. This has been a very good vehicle. Knock
on wood, I have never had to replace a bearing or any repair to the differential. It is also the only truck I have owned. I’m 76 and when I’m gone my son will get a
classic Chevy pick up.
