1998 Chevy K1500 -Todd N.

I bought my 1998 Chevrolet k1500 for $3200 in 2015. It was rough. After a lifetime in the Arizona sun, you couldn’t hardly tell what color it was. Paint was missing to the metal in a lot of places. It had 198,000 miles on it. I just wanted a truck for camping and driving with my dog in the passenger seat. Shortly after replacing the engine with a remanufactured one and putting in a rebuilt transmission, along with bringing the color back and cleaning it up, my wife and I were hit by a side by side on a fire road, hitting the back of the cab and the front of the bed… it was totaled. I decided to buy it back and fix it, as the insurance company gave me more money than I had in it. After a painful year or so, it was brought back to life and now has a restored title. I continue to work on it and make small changes to make it something I’m proud of. There isn’t much that I haven’t fixed in it (a lot of it myself), and it gives me a lot of pride to be able to keep it on the road, looking good.
