1979 Ford Bronco – Robert B.

My parents 1st new truck a ’79 bronco purchased locally in Dearborn MI. I was born 2 years prior. As a kid we always drove this. Took trips up north. I loved this truck growing up! Over the years it had several upgrades, engine, suspension, but the truck was always pretty good. Over the years of Michigan weather had started to show its wear. Many years later, my parents decided to move North to traverse city. The bronco was parked in the barn, only used in heavy Northern MI snow. And occasional stump pulling. In 2008 my dad passed away and she sat in the barn as a reminder for 16 years. I couldn’t touch it. In 2021 I had a son. I told myself I should bring it back and restore it with my son, maybe one day he would enjoy it as much as I do. Here comes October of 2022. I borrowed a trailer and brought it home. I have spent over 2 years, slowly getting her back up running with all new suspension, fuel system, ignition, brakes, all the mechanical items. My son who is 4 will tell you “That’s my Bronco dad.” One day she will get paint. But we enjoy her as she is. Take her to some cruises, car shows. I hope he continues to love this truck for when he is older, has a son.
