1959 Ford F100 – David H.

I bought this ’59 Ford F150 stepside in 1972.
I drove it continually. Always rebuilding and upgrading as things broke and as I had the money.
It has new leaf springs, with an extra leaf added up front, plus a Hellwig sway bar. It’s got power steering and quad shocks in the front. In the rear, it has new springs, a sway bar, traction bars, and a limited-slip differential. The 428 big block that I rebuilt in 1986 has many miles on it and still runs strong, backed by a four-speed. This truck is very fast. I have pictures of my son and I working on it in 1983 and also pictures of when he shipped it to Fort Benning in Georgia throughout his military career. I bracket raced at Woodburn Dragstrip in the 80’s. My best time was 13.98 in the quarter mile. As it sits on the original chassis, it is a time machine, all the work I did myself inside and out. It has a long history in my family, and I continue to drive it every week.
Many of your trucks look perfect and could definitely outshine me in a show
All the patina on my truck I put there. It was perfect in 1986. This truck has been a part of my identity. And I have a lifetime of memories driving it very, very hard.
Thank you, Dave and Jake H.
