1974 Ford F250 – Sheldon C.

My 1974 Ford F-250 Highboy isn’t just an old truck — it’s part of my family’s history. My grandpa owned it first. It worked hard, hauled heavy, and carried stories long before I ever got behind the wheel. Eventually, it was passed down to me, and now my dad and I are bringing it back to life together.
The Highboy isn’t your average pickup. Those factory lift blocks and the divorced transfer case make it sit taller and tougher than most trucks from its era. It’s rare now, and finding parts isn’t easy. A lot of what it needs isn’t sitting on a shelf at the local parts store anymore.
That’s been part of the challenge — and part of the fun. Tracking down the right components, matching original specs, trying to keep it true to what it was in 1974. When we hit a wall looking for parts, LMC Truck came through with exactly what we needed. It felt like striking gold.
Every bolt we turn feels like we’re preserving something bigger than metal. It’s time in the garage with my dad. It’s remembering my grandpa. It’s keeping a piece of history on the road instead of letting it fade away.
It won’t just be a truck — it’ll be three generations riding in it.
