1978 Ford F150 – Brian C.

While out searching for a Ford Dentside for my son and I to rebuild for his first truck. I spotted the undeniable grill of a 1978 Ford, only 4 miles from my home. I went down the long driveway and knocked on the door. When the gentleman answered the door I asked” if the Ford F150 was for sale ?” He smiled and said “which one?” Right away I asked “how many do you have? ” He said 2, the one you can see and one down back”. I told him I was interested in both. He then told me he had been looking for a scrap dealer to come get them. I asked how much?? He told me $200 each but warned me that a big pine tree had fallen on the one out back. I couldn’t get the money out of my wallet fast enough. A year and a half later and a lot of work, my son and I drove the finished product back to his house. He had a smile from ear to ear and walked around the truck reminiscing. Now the truck is not a perfect show truck, but it is a above average summer driver that we saved from the crusher.
