1982 Chevrolet C10 – Kathy T.

I moved to Kentucky in 1975 to a small rural town. It took a while to make friends, but in 1977 I met my first real friend. We lived close enough that we could walk back and forth to each other’s houses. She had an older brother who drove a GMC Stepside pickup and some of my favorite memories are riding in the back of that truck as we headed into town. I never imagined those simple rides would stay with me for the rest of my life.

Years passed, and although we eventually moved away, I never forgot my friend or her brother’s truck. That Stepside became a lifelong memory.

Then in 2020, I was given the opportunity to buy a Stepside of my own. There wasn’t a moment of hesitation, I said yes. Soon after, someone suggested I look through the LMC catalog to find the parts I needed. My truck still needed door panels, a tailgate, a steering wheel and countless other pieces to make her whole again.

Over the next six years, I placed order after order. Every part brought my dream one step closer to reality. Today, she’s finally complete. She sits proudly in my garage, her name is Baby and she’s everything I hoped she’d be. Beautiful, powerful and equipped with a 454 engine that makes her as impressive to drive as she is to look at.
