1988 Chevrolet S10 – Brady F.

 This truck was traded in at Troy Alan Buick in Kittaning, PA in 2023. My dad originally brought it home from work to use the frame for his HHR. But I ended up buying it off of him for $500 and fixing it up to the beauty it is today.
It is a stock 4.3L v6 4wd automatic with 400,000 miles counted but has more than that.

I graduated in 2024 and really wanted to take it to graduation, so we set out a goal. Get it inspected! The truck didn’t need much, the exhaust was blown out and needed replaced. The headlights didn’t work and the power windows didn’t work. We got all of that fixed and dressed it up with a new grille and some wheels. I drove that puppy to graduation with the biggest smile on my face, I loved this truck.
As I gained more knowledge of how to work on vehicles, my truck went through multiple phases. I decorated it for holidays, bought a ton of different wheels, lights, interior parts and etc. It got to Christmas of 2024 and I decided to cover it in Christmas lights. It was amazing! People loved it and I drove it that way for weeks until something unexpected happened. I crashed my truck.
I was driving it home from work and lost control of the truck in the snow. I swung sideways right into a 10 ton weight limit sign, smashed the side of my bed in. Lucky I didn’t get hurt and only the bed was damaged. The truck lives on! I had to remove the Christmas lights and I didn’t prepare for how much paint it would take off my truck. My truck was covered in white primer spots. It looked like polka dots. It was time to paint it.

September 2025 it was time to inspect it again. That’s when we decided to paint it. We thought it would only take us one week. I already had a new bed at this point so it made life easier. Sand, primer, prep, paint! But boy were we wrong. My truck ended up having issues we didn’t see coming. There was a giant hole in my floor we never noticed, somehow. My doors were rotting out, my leaf springs snapped and my cab mounts were rotted out. It ended up taking us until January 2026, that the truck was finally ready to be painted.

I am so glad with the color I picked, it is beautiful. This truck means a lot to me and I will probably never get rid of it. It is very reliable. The only things I have replaced were spark plugs and wires. I drove it 4 hours to GM Nationals 2026 in Carlisle PA then drove 4 hours back with zero issues.
This truck has also sparked an addiction. I have bought so many different S10s. I have 3 single cab short beds that drive, 2 Blazers for parts, an extended cab short bed Baja truck, and a GMC Jimmy.

This trucks story will forever continue since I will never stop working on it. So glad my dad brought this thing home.
