2000 Chevrolet Silverado – Corbett D.

This truck once belonged to my great-grandfather. He would drive me to the bus stop for school, and I would go with him to the market to buy cattle, as he and his son raised cows together. I have a lot of special memories with him and this truck. He unfortunately passed away in December 2004 when I was 10 years old. His widow, my great-grandmother, sold her car and kept the truck. Anytime we went to town together, it was in the Silverado. I learned to drive in it, took my driving test in it, went to my first job interview in it and learned how to work on vehicles with it. Whenever my great-grandma needed me to cut her grass, she would send me in her truck to go fill up the gas can (even though I had a perfectly fine S10 as my first vehicle). Fast forward to May 2025: my great-grandmother passed away from pneumonia at the age of 95. I was, of course, devastated. The day before the funeral, my dad showed me a copy of her will, and right there in black and white it said, ‘I leave my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado to my great-grandson, Corbett.’ I honestly burst into tears; I had no idea she wanted me to have it. Today, it sits in my yard needing some TLC before it can get back on the road, and with the help of LMC Truck, that will happen in no time.
