1979 Chevrolet K10 – Josh B.

New to me, my 1979 that I bought locally in 2024. Didn’t have it more than 2 months and the engine went out. Sat for about a year before a SB 406 was built to install. Truck original was a 400 and we pulled out a 350 so I wanted to do a heritage build. Something that you would have seen in every small farm town in the 80’s and 90’s. I remember every farmer around where I grew up had one of these. My brother even had one after he graduated. I always liked ’79 because the chrome grilles was different than the previous years. Its a Silverado so it has power windows, power locks, AC and cruise. I installed a retro sound radio and I did some minor changes to the engine such and a Holley mid mount serpentine drive. But I want to keep the original heater/AC box under the hood to keep as much original as I can. The best part of owning this vehicle, is going to a car show and people tell stories of how their dad, grandpa or uncle had one. I always think its a pure Americana. Only major upgrade I would like to do is swap out the TH350 for a 4L80.
