1952 Chevrolet 3100 – Bryon D.
My father bought a brand new blue Chevy pickup in 1952. I was not even born yet. After he built a wooden camper on it’s bed, it became our family pickup. We used that truck to travel all over the western United States until 1972 when my mom got a used Impala to replace it. “Old Blue” then sat in 3 different fields in Wyoming for the next 40 or so years until I decided that I would fix it up for myself. But I had a family and jobs so I wasn’t able to hardly ever work on it so it travelled from state to state with us for about 15 more years as we raised our kids. Now that I am retired, I have begun restoring old blue with my brother-in-law in Oregon. I travel from Idaho over to his house for a week at a time to work on it.
As you can see from the picture, we are well on our way to dismantling it. He will do most of the restoration work for me since that’s what he has done most of his life. I hope to update this on-going saga after it is completed. Attached are two picture of what it looks like after a week of hard work.
