I ordered my truck from the factory through a Ford dealer in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming in late 1974. The showroom had wooden floors and folding accordion doors, not the fancy dealerships of today. I chose a lot of options (see the factory delivery invoice), and was able to order a 390 cu in engine with a special package that was only available for the first time on a Ford truck from the factory in 1974. It consisted of a Holley 4 barrel carb and viscious/clutch fan assy. Chose the C6 transmission with 373 gears in the rear, and the super cooling package for towing, and dual fuel tanks. The factory color was limestone green metallic.

I lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 27 years and did a lot of hunting and fishing in my truck, not to mention getting me through a lot of Wyoming winter blizzards. Both my sons learned to drive in it and a lot of family memories are linked to it to this day.
I moved to Oregon in 1987. In 1988, the factory color was pretty worn, so I had a friend repaint it a metallic blue. Through the years it too, started showing it’s age. I work for a Body & Paint Shop and decided this year that it was time to bring my truck to new again. The shop did a total restoration on it. There was some rust to repair, thanks to LMC I ordered some sheet metal patch panels. The truck was stripped down to the metal and then sprayed with epoxy solvent primer. Then followed many generous coats of Diamont Solvent based color. The color is an Audi metallic silver called “Tornado Gray”. Final coats of clear coat completed the process. Precision Body & Paint in Beaverton, Oregon, is well known for their quality and craftsmanship in the Portland metro area, and they lived up to their reputation and performed their magic. Thanks to Mike Keeley, Scott Nguyen, Billy Prom, Scott Purcella, and Lawrence Carlson.

It has a fresh 390 cu in with a 4 barrel Edelbrock carb, Hedman headers and 21/2” dual exhaust. Complete MSD ignition system, pro billet distributor and blaster coil. Front suspension was also rebuilt, drivetrain rebuilt from driveshaft to rear end and axles, C6 transmission rebuilt with shift kit, heavy duty torque converter, and a Hayden transmission cooler.

The truck has 139.000 original miles on it and as you can see, I still have the original window invoice and owners manual from the factory, when it was delivered to the dealership.
This restoration would not have been possible without LMC Truck. Their customer service is awesome, got the right parts, on time and their quality is outstanding. Thanks for being the great company that you are. LMC is truly the bible for restoring and maintaining your Ford Truck.
