1975 Ford F250-Heather F.

This truck was orginally a rural fire department truck. My father acquired this truck after it was decommisioned. I have many fond memories of this truck growing up. My dad would drive us around in it, racing across the flat bottom roads, pushing on the gas to hear it echo off of buildings. It was the loudest (and coolest) truck in town! Then, one day, the engine locked up, and it was moved into the garage where it sat for 15+ years. In 2003, I was in an accident where I went through the window. It was the summer before starting 8th grade. I am unable to remember very much of my life before the accident. But I remember this truck. My siblings and I always argued over who would get to fix this truck up. After getting engaged to my (now) husband Kyle, I went to Dad, wanting to try to convince him it was time to fix the truck up for the wedding. Well, he just gave it to us! This truck was always my dad’s pride and joy. Him and I never got along very well either, so this was a major turning point in our lives. So the 8 months of work began. Dad worked on the motor in his free time, and Kyle spent his nights in the shop as well. We made several trips to Kansas City to LMC, and finished the paint a week before the wedding! We wanted to keep it as original as possible, which made it very difficult, as it was a custom truck. This truck has been a great bonding experience for the family. It was a family effort and we are all proud of the outcome.
