1984 Chevy C20 – Chris S.
| I bought the truck a little over three months ago. I am 15 years old and it is my second truck. The truck I had before it was a 79 C10 that I loved but was really rough and it didn’t run very well and didn’t drive at all. But while my dad was talking to our neighbor I noticed a lot of old Chevys sitting in his backyard and asked him if I could go take a look. When I went back there one of them caught my eye. It looked pretty good but it was a little rough and had a lot of rust but I figured I would say something about to the guy. I ended up asking what he was going to do with it and he said he was going to pull the motor and send it to the crusher, so of course, I had to ask how much it would take to buy it. And he told me $600. At that point I was sold on the truck I just had to convince my parents to let me get it. They told me if we could get it running then I could have it. So it began. Me and my dad went over as soon as we could. As we decoded the VIN we realized that it was built in the same plant as my first truck St. Louis. When we started working it took us about a week because the fuel rod was stuck and all of the spark plug wires were in the wrong place but as soon as we got it all the way it was supposed to be we turned the key and she roared to life and then idled just fine. It is now my daily driver and I love it. And I plan to do lots of things to it and have already made a wishlist on LMC Truck’s website. |
