So me and a buddy of mine, I met the week before at the mud pit, met up back at the off road course in town. It had rained the day before and all morning before we got there. We started our run around the course trying out the small stuff and we decided to try this new course that we have never been down. Well we end up going down the trail with him leading and it’s barely wide enough and tall enough for my truck because of my lift and mud tires. We get halfway down and we come to this junction where there is a 4 foot deep mud puddle that is certain doom if you go straight on and the only way through is to go out and around a tree then cut back quickly the stay on the trail. Keep in mind that the entire trail is slick mud and I’m on seasoned mud tires. He makes it through and I figure okay it’s my turn. I go for it and make it around the tree and right after the tree I end up stuck in a bad slick rut. We start cutting and throwing down tree limbs and brush to try and get some traction but the mud is so soupy that it isn’t making a difference. A group of jeeps come along behind us and one has a winch. He starts winching me from an angle and he pulls my right side of the truck into the four foot rut hole that’s full of muddy water. At this point my truck is in danger of flipping over. They think this guy is done for and they say they are leaving to go get a longer rope. Me and my buddy knew that they were lying and that they were not coming back, so we hook a tow strap that I have in the back of my truck to my hitch and then hook a load strap from a semi on to that to make it longer. We then hook that to his hitch because about 40 feet behind where I am stuck is muddy water with a gravelly base. He starts to Ram forward little by little and after a half hour of us dragging my axles on the side of the rut my truck breaks free and we drive out of there with him leading.
