1996 Ford Bronco-Bart J.
When I graduated high school I bought a 1986 Ford Bronco XLT two tone Red/White. I had always loved the Broncos and it was time to own one myself. I enjoyed the vehicle more than any I had ever owned. I had several friends who offered me good money for my Bronco, finally I regrettably sold the Bronco to a good friend who still has it today.
As a middle aged adult I longed for another to drive on weekends, looking for the best candidate for an on frame restoration I searched for several years. I bought a 1996 one owner fleet maintained Portofino Blue Bronco XL from the state of Nevada Department of Education and it arrived September of 2013.
I have a childhood friend, Mike Vaughn, who has been a Ford certified Mechanic at North Hills Lincoln/Mercury for almost 30 years. He had gone into “private practice” opening All About Autos in the old shop when the dealership sold, being a Ford man Mike referred me to LMC Truck when it was time to buy parts for the restoration of my new Bronco. He took the entire truck apart piece by piece and we were happy to find it had no rust whatsoever! We replaced all the rubber seals in the windows and many, many other parts, rebuilding what we could. Then gave her a total cleaning part by part during reassembly. The truck was then repainted the original OEM Portofino Blue. I cannot imagine how much more difficult it would have been to locate new parts for my Bronco without LMC!
Needless to say I am a very happy customer and Ford Bronco owner for life! I learned my lesson and will not sell at any price again. The restoration of this truck was a labor of love and I will pass this legendary collectable Bronco on to my daughter someday.
