1985 Ford Ranger-Blake B.

As a child I grew up in a little country town where we had a small farm with pasture land for cattle. During the year I was born my dad bought a brand new blue 1985 Ford Ranger 4×4 pickup. This truck played a huge role in my childhood. This is how I learned to drive and be responsible for a vehicle. As it ended up being just a farm truck it was up to me to keep running. I had a lot of memories with that truck! Around the time I was 14 we sold the truck to an elderly man who was in need of a truck to get around town. Later in life the elderly man passed away. I couldn’t help but to wonder what became of the old Ranger. I heard through friends of the family that the truck caught fire one day. Still I wondered where the truck was. My guess is that it ended up being scraped at a junkyard. It was at that point that I started my search of an identical 1985 blue Ford Ranger 4×4. After searching all over the US I finally found the one I’d been looking for in North Carolina. After some negotiation with the owner I was finally the proud owner of a blue 1985 Ford Ranger! Now the rebuild begins. I started with some wheels and tires and fresh interior parts from LMC. Then moved on to a complete engine rebuild and on to a lift and winch bumper. I am now expecting my first child, a boy, whom I hope will get as much enjoyment out of this truck as I have!
