1970 Chevy CST10 – Dan K.

12 Years ago I was just about to graduate high school and go to a 2 year technical college to become an automotive technician. My father worked in a body shop so I grew up around cars and had a passion for them. My father returned from a trip one evening and said there was a truck alongside of the road for sale approx. 30 miles from our house that we could restore. He said it was an old Chevy. At the time I had little interest in it as I am a huge Ford Mustang Fan. We ended up going to look at soon thereafter and decided it would be a good candidate to restore as it had come from Arkansas and had very little rust. We drove it home the same night. For the next two or so years, we drove it around town and tinkered on it here and there. One fall back in 2007 we decided to tear it down and completely restore it. We spent any available spare time on nights and weekends taking it apart down to the bare frame and building it from the ground up. Living in Wisconsin we had to take breaks in the winter as we did not have a heated facility to work. As time and funds became available we slowly put it back together rebuilding some components and replacing others with new. I would work on the mechanical components and wiring for the truck and my father would complete all of the body and paintwork on the truck. This continued for close to 10 years. Finally last fall we were able to complete the truck and start driving it. We both look forward to many years of enjoyment driving the truck and love the looks it gets when cruising down the road! A huge thank you to LMC Truck for making the parts shopping very easy and readily available.
