1972 Chevy Cheyenne – Dan R.
This has been a 15 year plus project. When I bought the truck in 92, it was in a little rough shape, had suffered a rt side fender bender that also bent the front frame rails. The front rt lower of the bed also had been drilled and bonded. It was the most complete Cheyenne I could find with some usual rust, cab corners, etc. Took it down to the frame and worked my way up. It was a pain in the behind til I finished it. It fought me every step of the way.
I call her the Black Widow. In reality, she’s a “Grand Illusion” because I had to make her look right. She’s not perfect. But she is perfect for me. And she runs as good as she looks. The biggest upgrade was a 700R4 tranny built for 500 horse. I did damn near all of the work myself, except for the Vintage AC, and the upholstery. The AC was installed without no front grill, hood or anything inside the cab. Drove it to the shop on a milk crate. (Scary) The seat is a Glide Engineering frame and the skins are from Tandy Leather. The design is my own and had the seat upholstered months before I was ready to place it in the cab. Custom Autosound 6 CD changer for tunes, and a detachable Grant steering wheel… There’s more, but too much to list here…
I have more photos that show the rear, I installed a bumper that fits 88 to 98 Chevy trucks. I wanted the step bumper and the trailer hitch setup…
