1993 Chevy K1500 – Jess G.
The truck is a 1993 chevrolet k1500. This was my dads truck. He had the truck for about 10 years. He used it for a farm truck that sat most of the time. It sat outside the paint was oxidized and the interior was dirty , never cleaned. The truck was never washed or waxed. I bought the truck from him. the engine burned coolant and ran rough and the transmission was on its last leg. I cleaned the truck inside and out. I removed the bed. I wire brushed and sanded the whole frame and had the frame painted and fender wells painted. I pulled the bored out 350 and trans. I put a 5.3 vortec and a 4L60e transmission. Put aeromotive fuel system, electric fans and had the new 5.3 LS engine painted and i put it in the truck. I done all the work myself except for the computer was tuned by RCI in Huntsville Al. I put a leveling kit in the front with new longer shocks and put 15×12 Mickey Thompson Classic 3 wheels with 33×13.50 Super Swamper LTB TSLs. I put new seats in the truck and stereo. I put the 94-98 style grille with new Crystal Clear head lights and running lights and clear corner light. With LED headlight bulds, white LED running light and corner bulbs. I cut and buffed the paint to bring the paint back to life. I have made this truck a powerful, reliable, daily driver that has the drive tran of a newer truck in a 93 chassis and body. Ive had 3 of the 88-98 body style trucks all have been single cabs. But i built this one my dream truck. I built it to how i wanted it and i am very pleased and i dont think ill be getting rid of this truck. It has too much semtimental value to me. This would mean alot to me after all this hard work if i could get this truck featured in your magazine.
