1959 Chevy-Art T.
I was looking for a project to build with my Lil Brother, kept looking on the internet for a truck either ford or Chevy and I finally ran into one on Craigslist. So I contacted the gentleman since it said by appointment only and when I called you can only leave a message and the add sounded to good to be true as it was set for a good price and around our budget. Well we waited for a week and we had lost hope but kept an eye out for another one and finally get the call back. I asked the man if it was still available since we didn’t get a call back and he stated he was out on vacation and he had a few calls he needed to return since there was others interested. So I set up the appointment for that afternoon. As I showed up we had that gut feeling that this one was going to be it, as we get to the address the man was sitting on the desk and introduced himself and said the truck is in another location but follow me. Once we see the truck we we’re excited and wanted to take it right there and then but he said he was just the middle man and selling it for Mike from Wheeler Dealers TV Show and was only taking offers for now, my jaw dropped and told him I have $$ in hand and we are ready to take it, he said I will take your offer and make him aware and will get back to you once I hear back. As we left we felt that our luck wasn’t going to be on our side but if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be. I waited 3 days and called the man back with no answer so I left a message. That night I get the call that he liked my offer and I can pick it up the following day I called my brother and told him the great news so you know what happened that sleepless night so much excitement just to have found a great foundation to start great memories with. We picked up the truck and the man told us how they had actually did an episode on the truck to look out for it and it was called trading up and we were just smiling from ear to ear. So get the truck home and start pulling it apart only kept the frame and the rest went to the body shop. With a lot of money sweat and tears and 2 1/2 years later it’s finally finished. We went with a 350 with 370hp and a 400 turbo with a shift kit, 340 posi traction by hoopers, 17″ billet specialties 17×8 in front 17×11 rear with 345 tires, vintage air, accue air ride system, tan leather interior with suede headliner, auto meter gauges, resto radio and Lexus pearl white paint 077 code.
