1993 Chevy C1500 – Al L.

It all started in 1974 when I was either a sophomore at Wilson High School in Florence SC. Back during that time when I got my license I wanted a truck but sister owned a 1973 or 74 Cutlass Supreme, as a matter of fact within the last year I have found a Classic 1974 Cutlass Supreme that I currently own. So my first vehicle after I was in the US Air Force for a couple of years was a 1973 Cutlass Supreme, but in the back of my mind I really wanted a pickup truck. In the early 1980’s trucks wasn’t COOL! So fast forward to 2002, after owning a Nissan 300ZX and a Ford Ranger truck I was riding down one of the roads in south Mississippi and spotted a green and white 1993 Chevy C1500 truck. After stopping and taking a closer look, I noticed it already had dual exhaust, A MUST HAVE. Upon initial inspection, the only thing I saw that was not in real good shape was the driver side door handle was loose. There was no rust spots, no serious dents, all lights work and it cranks immediately on the first turn over. Under the hood was the V8 5.7 engine, it was clean and no noticeable oil leaks. To this day, the only major repair has been to replace the transmission. I have repainted it burgundy (my favorite color), added mag wheels, white letter tires and had the interior reupholstered. The truck has over 402 thousand miles on the original engine, get 15 -16 MPH and runs like a champ.
