1984 Chevy C30 – Pete N.

Thanks for All the Memories Dad!

In 1984, my dad purchased a new Chevy C-30 Custom Deluxe Dually Crew Cab. The Chevy was ordered with a 454 motor, a 4-speed manual and 373 rear end gear ratio. Through the next 30 years our family used the truck for many camping trips, heavy hauling and just everyday driving. I am the youngest of three kids, born in 1987. I always knew this was no ordinary truck. This was my dad’s pride and joy. In 2012, my dad passed away. The truck was parked and not used for the previous 10 years. He had so many good memories with it that he couldn’t let it go down the road. In 2013, I was able to track down the old girl. One of my distant family members purchased the truck from the estate. When I went to pick it up, it was one week from having the motor pulled out and the body crushed. That would have been the easy thing to do, but that is not me. I don’t do anything small and easy in life. I knew what I had to do. The project took 2.5 years of work. LMC truck was a very valuable tool for me because most of the parts are not made anymore. The GM body parts are OEM parts from other rust-free trucks. After a lot of ordering and finding parts, the custom deluxe started to take shape. Before I knew it, it was done. Now me, my wife, Allison, and sons, Christopher and Jacob use the truck to pull our 5th wheel camper. I can’t describe the feeling when we get to a new campground and park the 5th wheel and truck for the weekend. Multiple people stop me before I can even get out to ask me where I got the truck and they want to hear the story. Most of the people have a family truck or want to restore an old truck. LMC Truck is always part of the process because without LMC, this and other truck restoration projects wouldn’t be possible! Thank you to LMC Truck and thanks for the memories dad!
