1985 Chevy Silverado – Dan R.

First of all I would like to thank LMC Truck for all of the parts I was able to purchase from you. Having access to such a good parts source is key to being able to complete a full ground up restoration.

I have been a Chevy truck fan since I was a kid growing up on a farm in Wisconsin during the 1960’s. My first driving experience was in a 52 Chevy 1/2 ton when I was 7 yrs old. We used the truck to pull a stone boat to pick rocks, there was wood blocks on the pedals so my feet could reach them. I wouldn’t trade those memories for nothing.

Through the years I’ve stuck with Chevy trucks, fixing them up and running the wheels off from them. In 2000, I bought my own farm and fixing trucks had to take a back seat for a while. Well, a few years ago I saw an ad for a 85 Chevy 4×4 and that needed to be restored. The truck was completely disassembled and came with all new gm nos sheet metal. I ended up buying the truck and to my surprise it ran, not well but good enough to get it on a trailer.

Last July I started to restore the 85 and today May 26th I drove it for the first time. What a thrill, it was like going back in time when these were new and I could only dream of owning one. I finally have a brand new 1985 Chevy truck!
