1965 Chevy C10 – Brandon N.
Ever since I was 8 years old when I visited my grandma with my dad, I looked forward to getting to take country drives with him down dirt roads in the “Missouri Truck.” Even as a young boy I knew I wanted to keep that truck in my family and restore it to an even better state than when it rolled off the assembly line in 1965.
My great-grandpa Allen purchased two vehicles brand new in his lifetime, a 1920 Model T Roadster, and a 1965 Chevrolet C10 fleetside short bed in Shelbina, MO. The “Missouri Truck” has done everything from hauling plumbing supplies, to transporting hay from field to barn. It’s been a commuter vehicle to school and back, and every 4th of July for 48 consecutive years it’s helped set up our fireworks stand. With the help of parts from LMC, I am a proud 4th generation family member owner, driving the same truck that my great-grandpa, grandpa, grandmother, and father have all driven.
While it may have been moved from Missouri to Indiana, the heartbeat of this truck still lives on the farm and will always be enjoyed for summer evening cruises and many more Independence Day celebrations to come. I absolutely love this truck and can only hope with this restoration that it is passed down to a 5th, 6th, or 7th generation of family to enjoy this timeless treasure.
