My Grandpa’s Truck

I’ve always loved anything that had a motor in it since I was a kid. That’s why I was so excited when I got my first truck: a 1989 Chevy Silverado 1500.

My first truck is a red and silver Chevy Silverado 1500 from ‘89. It was my grandpa’s truck for all the years leading up to when I bought it. I bought it when I was 14, so in 2017.

When we got it, it was its original color, red and silver. The first thing we did to it before anything else, was to put wheels and tires on it, and we got it painted. We painted the truck completely red. Later on, we put in new headlights and taillights, along with new black mirrors and a new black grille. We painted the dark maroon part of the interior black and left the rest of it alone. We also put a new radiator, brake system, distributor, carburetor, valves, head and intake gasket, and lots of other things.

This truck means the world to me and I am never going to get rid of it. I will keep it until I’m ready to pass it down to my son or daughter when they’re ready for their first truck. This truck has many years ahead of it and many miles it’s going to be driven but it will forever be my pride and joy.[lmc_story_gallery]
