1985 Chevy Suburban – Robb B.

The Burb Life.

I bought this 85 GMC Suburban 4 yrs ago. The engine and trans were missing. Having been a life long square owner, I have a lot of parts. So I built a 4bolt main 350. Installed a beefed up 700R4 trans and then started the restoration of the rest. The original owners special ordered it new with a trailer tow package. So I researched the vin# and put it back as it was in 85 including the paint. At the time the stripe wasn’t available, so in order to replicate it, I found another sub a took measurements off of it and then masked off and painted strip on mine. The restoration wasn’t without hiccups. About halfway through the bodywork, there was a storm that blew a tree limb down. The only night the sub sat outside, the tree limb landed on the roof. Today it goes to shows and carries our grandkids to the DQ. The interior is as it was when we bought it except for the new headliner front and rear. The rest, All we did was clean it up. We bought Bumpers, Fuel tank, window felt, Chrome trim, wheel opening moldings and a host of other things from LMC to make this girl beautiful again.[lmc_story_gallery]
