1972 Chevy Cheyenne – Bowdy M.

Miracle 1972 Chevy Cheyenne

It all started back in the 1990s, my dad Kenny was restoring this 1972 Chevy Cheyenne super. It was his dream truck to have restore and enjoy it with his family. In 2001 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. With medical bills piling up he had to sell his truck that he never got to finish in 2005 at a local swap meet. He continued his fight with cancer and just living spending time with family and friends. He past away in 2009 when I was 16 years old. I have always had a love for trucks as my father did. I owned a few 67-72 but none of them were his 72 Chevy Cheyenne 4×4. So 13 years later after he sold his dream truck I was out to find it. Made a social media post and also an ad on Craigslist. A month went by and didn’t hear anything until I was headed home from work one night. I had a text message from a gentleman that seen my Craigslist ad. His name was joe and he was texting me saying he’s 80 % sure he has the truck. He was describing it and sounded like the same truck with axle trusses edge in black. Joe had moved to Louisiana but kept the truck back home in Iowa. So we set up a date/time a month after talking to him. That was the hardest month, everyday thinking if it was the same truck. Fast forward to the day we got to see if it was it and it was!!! 13 years later we had found it. Same shape same everything nothing was ever touched when dad had sold it in 2005 just covered in dust. I was like it was meant to be like he was saving it for me to finish and restore. We bought her and brought her home. I went to work finishing my dad’s 1972 Chevy Cheyenne super the way he always talked about it. He had already restored the axles/frame and body besides paint. Most parts were in the bed. 10 months go by and I was ready for the Goodguys car show. I will forever keep this truck in my family.[lmc_story_gallery]
