1979 GMC K1500 – Jay F.
I bought this truck in 1982 from the first owner with 77,000 miles. Being a daily driver until 1999 took its toll on the mechanical and physical properties. It was time to revive my favorite ride, the original 350 was completely overhauled with Moroso and Edelbrock goodies, the turbo 350 transmission and transfer case were also renewed, 4″ suspension lift and 33″ tires mounted on old school directional wheels fit perfect for the era of this classic. Headers and dual exhaust make for a nice sound. Headliner custom recovered by myself, replacement carpet from LMC helped complete the interior restoration.
Since LMC originated to present, they have kept me in every aspect of parts to keep this classic in fantastic car show condition. It has over 225,000 miles on the chassis and is only driven on clear summer days mostly to my daughters’ softball games to show it off. It’s garaged the rest of the time year round, this keeps it looking like it just came out of the paint booth. Other than hand washing it, it doesn’t see any moisture. My favorite saying is “It melts in the rain” . Thank you LMC for being a big part of my truck, past, present & future.
