1962 Chevy C20 – Doug T.
Laurens Truck
Our story starts with a young girl who grew up around muscle cars and when old enough to drive wanted an old truck as her first car, we searched for a few months and found a 1962 GMC truck 8 hours away from home and decided to go for it, so off we went . At this point we thought we would put some power steering in it and maybe a disc brake conversion, once we got it home it was apparent that the old 6 cylinder and manual transmission where tired , so we decided to pull it out and put in a 350 with a turbo 350 transmission . Somewhere along the line it turned into a full restoration with a lot of help from LMC truck parts who I don’t know how they do it but they can get parts from the southern USA to Vancouver Canada where we live in 3 days!! Great job guys. So after the power steering and disc brakes came new wiring kit, Dakota gauges, new tilt Colum all new upholstery, new bumpers , paint , bed wood, glass, blue tooth stereo and many other things we had a great time doing this truck as a father daughter project although we are not totally done wow what a transformation and a lot of fun.
