I bought this GMC pickup in May of 1979 brand new. It is a camper special with a factory 454, automatic, 2 wheel drive, 3/4 ton, as a/c and AM/FM radio. I sold it to a local farmer in late summer of 1980. My oldest son bought this truck back from the same guy in 2018 for me for father’s day. It had been sitting there since 04 ,outside. After some extensive engine work, he found a 1/4 inch bolt stuck in cylinder intake valve, and a new exhaust she fired up. Put some nearly new tires on her and she was ready for a test run. I hadn’t driven this beast in nearly 40 years. It was a great experience. We are currently doing updates on it and awaiting spring to start in on body work and some new paint.
