1999 Chevy Tahoe – William C.

Resurrection

I had just graduated high school and my old 1999 Suburban finally gave up on me and I needed to find a new ride. I’ve always loved the 90s chevys and was looking for another one. A family member had told me about a Tahoe sitting in a guys driveway. I go to said driveway and there was a Tahoe, same pewter metallic and the same year as my suburban. Odd enough had almost the same identical mileage I got my suburban with (188,000 and some change). Knocked on the door and a woman answered and asked me why I’d want that old pile of junk. So a couple days later her husband called me and we negotiated a price ($800). It was in decent shape no rust just a dent in the fender. Had 4 flat tires and hadn’t ran in 6 years, didn’t even know if it would run. Called a flat bed to have it towed to my house but I said “ let’s throw a jump pack on it and see if it’ll even crank” sure enough she fired and was running. Drove her up onto the flat bed with 4 flat tires and got it home and went through the brakes and steering. Next day she was on the road. It now has 214,000 miles on her. I drive it everyday and occasionally a raid trip and hasn’t let me down. It now has a 2in lift and 33in general grabber atx’s. As a volunteer fireman it has served me very well and has seen some action. My plan is to keep running it until the wheels fall off and completely restore it to enjoy for many more years.[lmc_story_gallery]
