1990 Chevy Blazer – Kevin M.

A Long Road

I purchased this truck in Lansing Michigan in 1996 with 45,000 miles on it.
The previous owner was a professional football player for the Detroit Lions, he was a very big lineman.
I myself am 6’ 8 and weigh 260 pounds; I like all big trucks!
The Blazer has had many excursions deer hunting and has seen many Michigan winters. It was a daily driver until 2009.
By this time the Michigan winters had taken their toll on the truck.
I was thought for a brief moment to scrap it as the government program cash for clunkers was just getting underway.
I didn’t have the heart to scrap it and I knew with the program that many cool old trucks would meet their demise.
Over the course of 10 years my wife and I have adopted a boy and ever since he arrived I told him we will take the big white Chevy to the dunes (I built this truck mainly to go to Silver Lake ORV sand dunes).
2020 is the year it will happen!
Some of the upgrades include 3 inch lift, new floors and body mounts, complete braking system , A/C is completely new with R-134A conversion, 33 inch BFG all terrains and 15X10 inch aluminum wheels. I have countless hours in the wiring system as well.
I also installed a soft top to utilize the convertible aspect of the truck.
Thank you LMC for carrying the parts I needed to get this Blazer back on the road, as I said earlier, many of these trucks have met their demise are now had to find even in the junkyard.[lmc_story_gallery]
