1973 Chevy C10 – Michel M.

It was late 1972, I was just a kid with my Dad on a Saturday morning walking around a local Chevrolet Dealer in Lewisville, Texas. He was thinking about trading in his ’69 Chevy Truck for a new one. As we walked around, we found a yellow and white ’73 that we both really liked. It had PS, PB, A/C, 350 with TH350 Auto Trans and after a test drive, Dad was ready to buy her. Dad drove that truck to work, to hunting, to the farm and on vacations, to Colorado, for years and years. It was a great truck and all the family just loved it. Fast forward about 25 years – Dad asked me if I’d like to have the ol’ Classic. I said HECK YEAH! I started working on her slowly but surely – new tires, wheels, brakes, recover the seat. The only thing that I didn’t like about her was her long bed – so I started looking for a way and a metalsmith to help me convert her to a short bed. It took a while but finally started to happen. I had a friend that had a ’78 short stepside bed that he didn’t need so I bought it from him and we cut the frame down and installed the short bed. This made all the difference in the world and got me the look I was after. She’s still under construction, but with the help of LMC’s huge parts supply, she’s now back on the road, street legal, and so much fun to drive!

Thank You LMC
