The first square body I ever drove was my friend’s yellow 1973 GMC Suburban in 1973. Ever since then, I always knew I would own one! Many years later, I had my chance to buy a 1991 GMC Suburban exactly the way I wanted it; barn doors, RWD, roll up windows bench seat, and last but not least, no draft windows. The wagon had 54,000 original miles when I bought it in 2014! No rust, totally stock with the 350 and four speed auto. Perfect for my work, I drove it to Buffalo and Rochester from NJ for many years until I was rear ended three years ago. I had the frame straightened, bodywork done, lots of LMC parts, and a new paint job. It’s just like new now, but with 189,000 miles. The engine is smooth and the transmission shifts like butter. The TBI fuel injection makes the engine whistle at idle like she’s a happy small block.
