1968 Ford F100 – Steve P.

In late 2021, I decided that I would restore a bumpside F100 for my wife as a daily driver and add a few “upgrades” to drive like a later model vehicle. Late January of 2022, we found the truck in CA with almost no rust and brought it home. As I scoured the internet for ideas and parts for the “upgrades”… Well, one thing led to another and 2 years 4 months later, “Ginger” was completed. Performing all the work myself, except the body and paint, Ginger came out of the garage a lot nicer than I ever thought. The frame is boxed out, with QA1 coil over suspension at all four corners. Staying away from “what everyone else does” (Coyote or LS), I kept the FE engine and C6 transmission with a few modifications. The FE is now a 449 stroker with Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 fuel injection with a little over 500HP and over 550ft bs of torque. I used 14″ Baer Pro+ Brakes at all 4 wheels to pull back on the reins of the stroker when she gets too excited. In an attempt to retain traction, the rear wheel wells are tubbed out to accept the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Ginger may not be a daily driver although the wife and I really enjoy driving her through our small town and attending a few car shows.
