My dad never wanted much in his life, joined the army, went to Germany, came home and married his High School sweetheart, but after working all his life and raising 6 kids, after all the kids grew up and moved on, he told my mom he wanted this ol’ 1971 Chevy truck. Only to be able to drive it for two years before lung cancer took his life on January 1st, 1997. Just before he pasted, they were driving down the road in Disney, OK, when my mom yelled, “jr watch out there’s a cow in the road” but too late, they hit the cow. Funny the cow jumped up and ran off, but messed up the hood and grill… Mom parked the truck in the backyard. I talked to my older two brothers about buying dad’s truck and both said it was a piece of junk. I wanted this truck because it was my dad’s, and it was the only thing he ever wanted. Sorry for the long verson. I bought it and have had it ever since. Mom has passed and I have been restoring it. I get to see and remember my dad and mom each day I drive it. It now has a new Edelbrock crate 350 motor, 350 h.p. with a jasper racing transmission, and a eaton 4:56 posi. rear end. Everything is new under the truck from the grille to the back bumper. Only thing is body and paint. I bought over the years a lot of Chevy parts from LMC. Thank you for allowing to tell my story. John W.
