This truck belonged to a customer to my shop. The owner would bring it once a year or so for oil changes and this time he hit the glass door while approaching the service bay! What was supposed to be an awkward situation became a great one. This truck had been in his family from new. The customer had been trying to restore it, but he had no experience working on cars and didn’t have the time, so it ended up sitting in his garage and he would never drive it.
When I saw this truck I couldn’t believe it; it was a California truck, so the paint was gone completely, lost to the wonderful California Sunshine, dash, as usual, completely cracked, faded colors inside…the usual.  But the metal was unbelievable… absolutely no rust, the truck ran healthy and solid, everything worked perfectly.
Since the owner was tired of having the truck sit and I was actually looking for a project truck for a while, we ended up coming to an agreement. The price he asked for was a lot under what I expected, but there was a catch.. he made me promise I would make this truck look nice again, after all, the truck belonged to his grandfather, then his uncle and finally he inherited it. Well, challenge accepted.
Slowly but surely I worked on the truck in every minute of spare time I had, I used a lot and mostly LMC truck parts, which was a great great resource without which it would have been a much harder task to put this truck together again.
After 3 years of work the truck is finally “ complete” (we never are really done, are we?). thank you LMC for making this project possible!
