1990 GMC K1500 – Danny D.

I bought my 1990 GMC Sierra K1500 new in the spring of 1990. It was not my first pick-up, but it was my first and only new truck I have ever purchased. It came from the factory with a 5.7 350 engine and an auto transmission. The truck has been garage kept all these years. It was driven daily for several years. I’m the proud father of three sons and each one drove it after getting their driving license for about a vear.
Although the truck only had a few dings and scratches after 30 years, I decided on a new paint job with the original paint. I also replaced all lights, mirrors and decals. No work was done on the interior since it was garage kept (even the carpet looked new). Thanks to LMC Truck for most of these replacements.
In 2023 the engine finally died at 204,000 miles. I replaced it with another 350 crate engine.
It’s still all original except the wheels and tires. All accessories still work, cruise, air conditioning, cassette deck, power windows and even the window washer.
It’s my only truck and I still use it to pull a trailer or boat occasionally. I get many offers from potential buyer when I’m out driving. I’ve turned down more than it cost new.
I love this old classic like a fourth son. Guess l’ll leave it for my sons to fight over when I’m no longer here.
