1975 Chevy K20 – Kurt B.
I grew up in this truck.
My dad bought this truck from a neighbor when the neighbor bought a new 1978 Scottsdale (he still has it, too.) It was a farm truck through and through: Dad drove it across country to pick up farm implements, and we used it to pull everything from hogs, small buildings, and seed. It’s had everything in the back from couches to cows. I have countless memories of bleeding the brakes, changing the transmission oil filter, and replacing the fuel pump; all of them eclipsed by just sitting with my arm out the passenger window going from place to place with Dad. It was his daily driver until 1995.
He replaced rusted panels and repainted it in the 80’s, and then did the same again in 2005. A few years ago I told my dad it would be better in my garage than an old cattle shed, and my work on it began. I want to restore what a can and upgrade what it needs. So far Dad and I have done the water pump, power steering, and brakes. I’m working on the vent windows, fuel system, and a few digital upgrades. It’s my daily driver now in it’s 50th year. Love this truck!
