1977 Ford F350 – Sarah S.
I’m located in Alberta, Canada and I bought this truck for $700 from a farmers field. Loaded it up on a trailer and brought her home. Once home, she fired up right away after changing some fuel filters and running the engine off a jerry can. Upon registering the truck unfortunately in Alberta, if the vehicle has not been registered in over 35 years than you need an out of province inspection which is a really tough and in-depth process. Everything the truck comes with has to work on top of tons of other small things! Most new vehicles don’t pass! So with finding out the sad news that it was nowhere in the system, I had to start going through the list and replacing stuff. Replaced rear fuel tank, steady bearing, rear pinion seal, rear differential seal, front and rear brakes, emergancy brake cables, radius arm bushings, carb kit, tires, exhaust, brake lines, transmission seal, steady bearing, wheel bearings front and rear, headlights and lots of little things. We did 95% of the work in my dad’s garage with the help from my dad and my fiancé. They walked me through all the parts and how to replace or fix them. I ended up spending around $2500 for the parts once all said and done. Than came time to send her to the shop to pass the inspection which she did! Now I’m driving my 1977 Ford as my daily! I absolutely love this truck and have plans to keep it close to how I found it as possible. I’m going to clear coat it when I get some money but for now I’m super happy to just be driving her and enjoying my truck!
