1985 Chevy C10 – Forrest S.
I went to work as a Tech at a Chevy dealer in Georgia in 1971. I was just out of Trade school. I worked my way up to Service Manager in 1981. That’s where the 1985 C10 Diesel Silverado was sold. It was sold to a cabinet shop in Tyrone, Ga. It was traded in at the same dealer in 1989. That’s when I purchased it. The truck has been my daily driver since then. I have all the original sales documents and the factory invoice from when it was purchased as a new truck. I have been working for or involved in a GM dealer ever since. Most of the work, except what I did myself has been done by a Certified GM Tech. The truck has performed well for 450,000 miles. Of course, it has had lots of repairs in those miles. It remains 95% original. The other 5% has been repaired to the way it came from the factory. My family gives a name for everything, down to Lawn Mowers. My Diesel truck was named “Stinky” for obvious reasons.
