1986 Dodge D150 – Brian R

This 1986 D150 Royal SE was headed to the junk yard as hurricane Michael destroyed their house and life. This truck survived the Cat 5 storm on October 10th 2018. Not to mention hurricane Opal in 1995. I was given this truck and a Bertone X1/9 so they could clear the property to demo the house. When my friend come to pick it up on his wrecker, we noticed something odd. It still had the part numbers painted on the frame rails. The underside of this truck showed no rust. No sand blasting from driving 102858 miles. I removed the bed liner and it showed minor rust spots. No way this could have over a 100k miles! The odometer showed 02858 miles so I figured 103k miles. To my surprise it did indeed have only 2858 miles as the pictures will show.
This is an on going project to bring it back to operational condition. Plan is… Remove engine and transmission. Reseal all drivetrain to include new radiator, water pump, hose/belts, complete AC system, complete brake system, all new light/lens, and replace all cab and window seals. Interior just needs a good bath.
I hope to keep this story moving as I bring this truck back to road worthy condition . Then, I want to find someone to keep it for generations to come. Hopefully they will keep it as is…stock condition.
