1978 Chevy K20 – Meghan M.
This truck here holds a very special place in my heart. When I first started driving I always wanted a Square body. That was my dream truck. In 2021, my dream came true! I finally own a Square body that is a 1986 k20. I kept it that way for about 2 years then my dad and I decided we were gonna throw his old motor in it which was out of his Square body he had when he was about my age. Which his engine is a 396 Big Block Engine that is bored out to a 402 out of a ‘66 Chevelle. The original plan was to rebuild the motor and transmission and make the truck a pulling truck. Once we started, the rebuild plans changed. We decided to just redo the whole thing to exactly how I wanted it. I’ve always loved the round headlight look out of all the years. So we decided to do a front end swap. We got a rust free bed and cab for her as well. The whole rebuild took about a year to complete. I say this truck holds a special place in my heart because my dad and I rebuilt the whole truck by ourselves from the ground up. Truly wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else but him. Now when I go down the road and I get thumbs up from people or even see them take pictures I get this feeling inside that one can’t even explain. Especially when I see older men and women noticing the truck it makes me happy because we are still keeping the trucks they grew up in alive! This truck is truly my pride and joy!
