1979 Ford F150 – Jose L.
This was my dad’s Ford Ranger. He started with a bike paper route when he immigrated to America. Ever since then he always just had smaller vehicles for fuel efficiency. But in 2017, he purchased this Truck. He maintained it until 2019 when he decided to finally try to fully restore it. He took it to a shop and it was stripped for paint. He added an intake manifold and a 4 barrel carb. But in August of 2020 he went into the hospital because of Covid. He didn’t make it out of the hospital. The truck was still in the shop when he passed so he never got the chance to finish. After that my oldest brother took it to San Antonio for 5 years hoping to continue the project. Sadly it sat for all those years and the sun started eating the fresh paint. I just brought it back from San Antonio to my hometown in Laredo this January 2026. I took it straight to another shop. We are working on the motor this week. Hopefully we hear it start for the first time since 2020. Even though the truck is far from being fully restored, I just want to bring a little of it’s memory back to my family by seeing it run again.
