1978 Ford F100 – Travis W.
My first truck, I purchased it from an upper class man back in high school in 2004, with my summer job savings and some graduation money. It was a 1976 f100 2wd, beer bottle brown and as cool as cool could be. I had that truck for 6 years. I fixed up little things with the help of lmc truck parts magazine. We pulled out the 302 and put in a 351w. We built it at my good friends auto repair shop. Fast forward to the day I had to sell it to start the life with my new bride. It was a very sad day. I always told myself I would get another truck. Luckily the guy who pitched it was not interested in my motor so we pulled it out and it had been sitting on a motor stand at Jt’s garage ever since. Life happens and a divorce was finalized. Which opened the door for the greatest woman that has ever set bare feet on this dirt, to walk into my life. This girl, you could write a book on her life and it would sell off the shelves. First truck an old Chevy short wide. She’s into classic cars and truck. I could go on and on. Now present day, we made a 20 hour trek form Oregon to Arizona to pick up this 1978 Ford f150, for our first of hopefully a few more classics we want to restore and make drivers to enjoy. It’s been a long journey to get another old Ford. We are working out the few bugs that an almost 50 year old truck has but we are working towards the goal of making that high school 351w sing again just like it did on the motor break in period, when we put it in the truck 3 days before my senior prom. Many funny stories about making that happen with some stand up dudes that I am lucky enough to call my life long friends and whom I consider to be family.
